What Customers Say About Quik Drive Auto Feed Screwdriver Kit:

Try the Pam system, superdrive or Hilti Superdrive. We have two of these guns and both of them have jambing issues, driving flush issues and little levers and adjusters breaking issues. This screw gun works fine, but there are much better products out there for the same price. All of the Superdrive products I have used work better than this gun, and the screws are more available.

For extra bits, just search the internet for bps-3 and quikdrive and you will find them. I am a builder and screw down the sub-floors in my houses myself. It doesn't take much to get them out if you use the tool. It hardly ever misfires, but if it does, I just get rid of the messed up screw and move on.

First off, the screw bits will round off if you keep screwing the floor when the screw is already sunk. I did one sub-floor with a normal screw gun and even with knee pads it sucked. Slide the hook through the slit that is under the inserted bit, and then rotate the tool 45 degrees or so and the bit pops out. So, DON'T DO THAT.

About getting the bits out, it comes with a freaking tool to pop them out. This tool is awesome and allows me to screw down the sub-floor in a 2000 square foot house in just a few hours. It takes a little practice, but not more than a few minutes or so. This tool makes it very efficient, although I do wish the strips contained more than 30 screws in each.

Home Depot, [most] Lowe's, and Sears do not carry them- DeWalt drill that comes with the kit is known to have a weak clutch that wears out sooner than their Pro models which use a Makita drill- Instructions are too brief, do not provide a parts list or inventory, and include assembly instructions but not actually *operating* instructions- Bits not always easy to remove, and are non-standard (you can't use the regular bits that are available for drills, you must use a QuikDrive bit)Good Points:------------- When it works it saves you a ton of time and energy, and is consistent with the depth it drives screws- QuikDrive customer service is excellent- Comes with two nozzles so that you can drive screws up to 3" in length Bad Points:------------ My 1st QuikDrive unit did not work out-of-the-box, had multiple problems with the driving unit including screw strips that jammed, and a depth adjustment that would not rotate properly- Driving Unit on the QD 2000 is a cheaper form of the one available on their pro unit - Screw Strips come in lengths of only 30, requiring frequent changes [you'll need several just to get through a single sheet of plywood]- It is difficult to find local retailers that carry the screw strips.

I am not very good with the regular cordless drill driving in screws, but this is a dream come true. I purchased this screw gun for my carpenter husband (he has over 16 years experience and loves this screw gun as well) to use when building our deck. To all of the men out there that say this doesn't work, I don't know what you were doing wrong but it worked wonderfully for this woman. It was easy to use and I only used two bits for all 4,000 screws. I love this screw gun. I ended up using it to screw in over 4,000 screws in record time.

DON'T LET THE BIT GRIND. Stay on it and follow through, remember this is a screw gun and not a nail gun.

Do this and with a little practice, you can save 50-80% of your labor. If you start having trouble, check the bit and replace it if it is rounded.

This is a great labor saving tool that I have used extensively. I can typically get through several boxes of screws on one bit.

This is one of the best tools I have ever used. The Quik Drive works great if you just play by the same rules you would use with any screw gun.

Quik Drive includes 2 free bits in every box of screws and this is more than enough if you don't let the bit spin and round off in the screw head.
